Iris Brooker Enters the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards.

We are delighted to announce that Iris Brooker has entered Swish and Swipe - Emily's First Day of School into the prestigious 2026 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards.

Since 2006, the Moonbeam Awards have celebrated outstanding children’s books from authors, illustrators and publishers around the world, recognising stories that encourage curiosity, discovery and a lifelong love of reading.

The awards consider not only the quality of the story, but also originality, design and production quality, with an emphasis on innovation and a commitment to children’s literacy.

Those values sit very closely with what we are building at Iris Brooker. Our aim has always been to create children’s books that are fun to read while also opening the door to important conversations about friendship, confidence, kindness, inclusion, and understanding others.

Entering the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards represents another exciting step for our young independent publishing company — and another opportunity to take the Iris Brooker name and our stories to a wider international audience.

Judging begins on 3 September, with the 2026 medalists announced on 1 October. Whatever the outcome, we are incredibly proud to see an Iris Brooker book amongst the entries.
